HRCC TO HOST SPECIAL ECONOMIC SUMMIT LUNCHEON JUNE 24TH |
June 1, 2009 |
Heights-Hillcrest Regional Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals (HRCC YP) is delighted to present a special luncheon and Economic Summit with South Euclid Mayor Georgine Welo, Cuyahoga County Planning Commission Director Paul Alsenas, and Director of the Cleveland Regional Office of the Ohio Secretary of State Christopher B. Nance, on Wednesday, June 24, 11:00 am - 1:30pm, at Maggiano's Little Italy, 26300 Cedar Road (Beachwood Place) in Beachwood. Tickets are $25 for HRCC members, $35 for non-member guests. To RSVP, please call HRCC at 397-7322 or www.hrcc.org. From our businesses and backyards to the hallowed halls of the U.S Congress, this is the year of belt-tightening. What effects do we see? What effects do we anticipate? What exemplary choices are being made NOW, on every level, that are stemming the tide and paving the way for stability and future growth? HRCC is pleased to be hosting this "stimulating" public conversation with three people who can answer these questions with unique perspective.
HRCC's Strategic Planning Team captain Ken Kovach, President of The Kovach Company and Executive Director of the International Community Council, will moderate. "While the recession continues as a major challenge," says Kovach, "HRCC's Summit will provide success stories and strategies for business owners and other professionals to move beyond the turbulence of the times. We are excited about who we have assembled to guide our dialogue to explore the vast opportunities being created." Attorney Nathan Wills concurs. "This is a remarkable opportunity for us each to learn from the doers – including HRCC and our fellow business owners – what's working now, and what's in the works," says Wills, captain of HRCC's Programming and Young Professionals (YP) Team. Indeed, creating this kind of dialogue for the community is one of the chief goals of HRCC's YP programming. As with all HRCC events, the luncheon/summit is open to all members and guests of any generation; these issues affect us all.
Significant PR will be attached to promoting this event; savvy companies interested sponsorship opportunities should contact HRCC Executive Director Angie Pohlman at (216) 397-7322. The Economic Summit luncheon is one of dozens of HRCC programs designed to empower business people and strengthen commerce in HRCC’s member cities – Cleveland Heights, Lyndhurst, Richmond Heights, Shaker Heights, South Euclid, and University Heights.
